The Solatube Skylight is a popular addition to any home. It is not surprising, therefore, that Solatube is beginning to find its way into the major media and such do-it-yourself venues as This Old House and the DIY Network. Check this page often, and we will try to keep you up to date on where to see Solatubes in action!
We are very excited to announce that Solatube is scheduled to air on the DIY Network's "Bathroom Renovations." The episode (DBTR-411) will premiere on Tuesday, February 13 at 6 p.m. PST and will feature the installation of a Solatube tubular skylight (the episode was filmed prior to the release of the new product). In a three-part renovation entitled "Victorian Expansion," an old turn-of-the-century Victorian home in St. Paul, Minn. is renovated to include a Solatube tubular skylight over the shower and tub area, installed by Host Amy Matthews. (The bathroom is also renovated to extend into the existing laundry room and includes a fireplace!)
Although the installation will be featured in the first episode of the renovation, the Solatube should also be seen in "Victorian Expansion" episodes DBTR-412 (premiering Feb. 13 at 6:30 PST) and DBTR-413 (premiering Tues., Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. PST).
We are pleased to announce that Solar Star® will be featured nationally on "Ask This Old House" on PBS during the week of February 15 (Episode #520). Air dates and times will vary by market. The sister-show of the extremely well-known "This Old House," "Ask This Old House" helps solve homeowners' home improvement problems. In this episode, host Tom Silva installs two Solar Star fans in a Massachusetts home. (The producer has told us that the Solar Star units "worked perfectly for us. We were quite impressed with the quality of the units!")
The Solatube Daylighting System is scheduled to be featured on "Good Morning America" on Wed., Jan. 10. The segment is scheduled to air in the 8 o'clock hour (PST).
For a 'green' segment, GMA visited the home of John Zinner, principal of Zinner Consultants and LEED AP, in California. He showcases and describes the five Solatube products within his home.
